nails, nails, nails...

Nail polish - it can be your best friend or pain in the neck. Don't you hate it when you paint your nails on Monday morning, only to wake up on Tuesday to notice three chipped nails.

I love nail polish. I love the color, the girly-ness, the way my nails look after being freshly painted. But I hate it when they chip. It makes me feel like I should repaint my nails, which with a base coat, two coats, top coat and drying time can take what seems like an entire day.

So I'm on the hunt for the best nail polish and top coat, with the longest staying power and the most chip resistance.

But in the meantime, here are a few of my favorite nail polish colors. I still love them even though the chip after a day or two...

What are your favorite nail polishes? What are some good nail polishes for staying power? What should I try?

i love me some mascara

How can one NOT love mascara? I love it, I don't know what I would do without it. Mascara is definitely my got item that instantly makes me feel ready for the day!

I have tried a lot of mascaras and at any given time I'm using 5-6 mascaras.
(not all at the same time, that would be a major beauty no-no,; unless of course you're going for ultra trantula type eyelashes...)

In high school I loved Maybelline's Lash Stylist mascara, but stopped I stopped using it a few years ago as I found lots of other new favorites, but recently I picked it up again and decided to try it again.

Now I must say I really love this mascara! It's definitely something that takes some getting used to, but I enjoy it. It really gives me really nice black separated lashes. The applicator is a little comb, so when applying it you can comb through your lashes and get every lash with no clumping. However, its not the most volumizing mascara I've ever used, but I love putting a coat of everyone's favorite, L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black over it. I must also say that when applying it, it is really wet at first, so you can work with it, but then it really dries. It can make my lashes seem a little stiff, but for the results it gives I don't mind. But for this reason, I wouldn't recommend applying more than one coat.

Okay let's get down to business now with what you really want to know, in list form:

Things that make me smile:
-Separates lashes really well
-Very nice black, bold color
-Lasts all day long
-Only need one coat and your lashes look great
-Drugstore product so the average price is $6-8

Things that make me sad:
-Application takes some time and getting used to (i def. almost poked my eyeball out with the wand and my goodness it hurt worse than any other mascara mishap i'd ever had...)
-Not as volumizing as I'd like
-While it lasts all day long, it takes sometime to remove
-Leaves my lashes a little stiff

BOTTOM LINE: I'd say its worth buying and trying. I would suggest waiting until it goes on sale though!

Have you tried Maybelline's Lash Stylist? What did you think? What's the mascara that makes your heart skip a beat?

FAQ??? Or not really.

So what the heck am I doing here?
Well you probably know better than me. I'm unemployed and bored. So like every other normal person, I decided the best use of my time would be to start a blog. Yeah, I know, I'm kind of lame. But get over it and learn to love me.

So what is this blog even about?
So I love all things beauty. I love watching a reading beauty guru videos and reading blogs. And now after some time I decided I'd start a blog, to entertain myself, cause we all know no one else is reading this. And this specific blog is appropriately titled FAQ, because these are questions that I am frequently asked. Except not really, seeing as no one actually reads this blog. However, I'm sure one day these questions will be important. Right?

Sunshine and Style, really thats pretty cheesy...
Okay so I know that's not really a question but, I just wanted to explain. I live in Seattle, where it rains. A lot. And I'm not particularly stylish. Fail on a blog title. Get over it.

Okay I'm over this now. Until next time my faithful readers, I bid you adieu.
(yes, I just looked up how to spell adieu)
